Chronic sinus pain/TMJ

Just that really, looking for anyone who may suffer with this who can help.

Sinuses were never a problem until I was 15 and was hit in the nose by a door (school toilets, putting something in the bin behind the door that led into the bathroom area, friend didn’t know I was behind the door and kicked it open to get in. No nose bleed, just a horrific pain). I’m 34 now and also have TMJ; every few weeks my TMJ starts and I’ll get an awful sinus headache and painful sinuses - no mucus, just pain, and it lasts a few days. I had the camera up a few years ago and they couldn’t see any problems or blockages, said the only suggestion would be to break my nose and reset it to see if it helps, which seemed extreme!

I do wear a mouthguard when my TMJ kicks in which I should really be wearing every night

Looking for a magic cure if anyone has one!

Sorry you're struggling OP. I don't have any magic cures, but here hoping someone else does! I have TMJ which increases whenever I get a period of anxiety. It also seems to trigger my migraines (or maybe my migraines trigger TMJ, not sure!) I do find that the cool and soothe gel pillows really do help relax the muscles from my jaw to my temple so you could maybe give that a try? Not a silver bullet, but a definite source of comfort - literally.

You need to wear it every night! I wear my religiously.

You’ve probably tried this but has your dentist checked out your top teeth recently? Only I was suffering what I thought might be sinus pain and turned out it was a low level infected wisdom tooth. Have had it out now and the pain is gone

I used topical ibuprofen (gel) on my face; jaw and ear when I was absolutely desperate for relief and it worked well. Mine's a nerve pain and even touching is horrific when it flares.
