Prescription delivery service

Anyone got any recs?

I used to use the Lloyds pharmacy app to get my cancer meds delivered - it worked perfectly, a couple of clicks and my meds turned up a few days later. It’s been migrated to pharmacy2u, who seem to have an issue talking to my GP - GP says no prescription requests received, pharmacy2u say two have been sent. So I think I need another app/website… has anyone got any recommendations? Thanks

Does your surgery use a web site or an app that allows you to request prescriptions ?
e.g. SystmOnline or AirMid etc?

If so check the details on there and the ‘appointed pharmacy’

Check your details and the surgery details etc on Pharmacy4U

I used Pharmacy4U for a short while, I could either request prescriptions on their site or on my SystemOnline account - the surgery would approve it and send it via the NHS/pharmacy
network to any nominated pharmacy

I scrapped it though, if there is any issue then you end up going around circles.
Pharmacy4U had my prescription as pending for ages, with the status online and on calling that the drug was out of stock but due within days. I ran out and ended up getting them to ‘return’ the prescription through the system (on their advice that I could then go to any pharmacy)
That didn’t happen - this had canceled the prescription, so I had to get a fresh manual prescription to take around the pharmacy’s - only to discover that the drug was out of production.
The pharmacist behind the counter was able to suggest a couple of alternatives to take back to the surgery for a fresh prescription
I was able to eventually get an alternative after running out and then being in increasing pain

I changed my selected pharmacy on the system - then a couple of months later just after requesting snd collecting a prescription locally I was called by the surgery - Pharmacy4U had reverted the nominated pharmacy to them and made a prescription request - the surgery were asking me if I wanted that - so I had to tell them to decline and reset my nomination again

Due to this I will not recommend them, it’s all fine when there are no issues. But can become a major problem if there are issues
Plus of course the shocking behaviour of changing my details in the NHS system without consent

(Not Pharamcy4Us error, but my mothers was accidentally posted through the neighbours letter box, the postie told her straight away but the neighbours were on holiday - this meant calling the surgery to get a re-issue for collection)

If you need deliveries then I would recommend looking for more local delivery options that you can resolve more easily if required - plus ensure that you are able to have your prescriptions sufficiently in advance to ease the impact of any delays

I collect prescriptions for a few people including my own, so get them sent to the same pharmacy. Sometimes the time cycles match and all can be picked up in one go, sometimes not

Thanks Tomikka for your detailed reply. Looks like your experience with pharmacy2u is even worse than mine. So frustrating when the system worked so well before. Looks like I’ll be picking my meds up for the foreseeable!
