Sorry I managed to delete my post. I've had v and d since the early morning. The d has stopped but I'm still feeling really sick, and feel close to throwing up again. I'm on holiday with my partner, we check out at midday and our flight is at 8 pm I think.

Any tips to help me feel better/get me through it till home??

Xx

I'm sure that everyone on the plane will love to have whatever bug you'll be spreading through the plane (and airport and your transportation to and from).

stilll · 31/03/2025 04:35

Call your travel insurer and see a doctor who will either give you something to stop the vomiting long enough to fly or advise you it’s likely infectious and to wait until you aren’t going to spread it to a plane full of people. Get well soon

Op do you have travel insurance? If so contact them now. They can rearrange your flight and pay for accommodation until you are well enough to travel.

MinnieCoops · 31/03/2025 06:35

You shouldn’t fly. It’s not fair on all the staff and passengers. Call your insurance.

SmurfKingdom · 31/03/2025 06:39

She’s so gonna fly.

sellotapechicken · 31/03/2025 06:58

So selfish

That’s so helpful for the OP

Hmm...I must have missed your helpful comment.

Edited to add: I did mean to have added the information that others posted about checking with insurance and the airline to change her flight, but I got one of those warnings about my adblocker while writing and lost that bit in refreshing (and didn't check as I should have done).

Pinkissmart · 31/03/2025 07:06

Food poisoning or a bug?

Aparecium · 31/03/2025 07:08

This is what travel insurance is for. Call them asap. You cannot travel today.

Bathnet · 31/03/2025 07:12

You can’t seriously be thinking of putting all the other passengers (who many well be on route to a holiday) and airline staff at risk of contracting your virus? Even if it’s food poisoning you’re at risk of passing it on to others. Contact your insurer and arrange to delay your flight

Flux1 · 31/03/2025 07:31

I'd start by asking for a very late check out so you can stay in bed for the day. And if there are regular flights I'd extend my stay and use travel insurance. If you fly please wear a mask and hand sanitiser to try not to infect others.

We're extending our trip by an extra night, the pharmacist thinks it's more likely food poisoning, given what we were eating yesterday. But, this post has been eye opening to say the least.

Great that you can stay longer. Hope you're feeling better soon. It's horrible to feel so sick.

Good call. I hope you feel better. Quite surprised this has been eye opening for you, most people know not to travel when sick.

Apologies. I can’t seem to tell the difference between a user name and a date stamp.

Hah, I just noticed that. Yes, can easily see the confusion;)

Ugh, nightmare 😩

I hope you feel better soon op and your dp doesn't catch it!

Keep sipping water and rehydration drinks if you can get them.
