Crackle / fluid on lung no other symptoms

I've been feeling a bit breathless for a few days and had slight chest pain. Went to the doctors today and Dr heard a crackle of fluid on one of my lungs. She doesn't know what it is as I have no other symptoms, no cough, not been ill, etc. She's done full bloods but has anyone else had this? Usually you'd expect to at least have a cough.
My oxygen, blood pressure and pulse were all fine.

Are your lower legs/ankles swollen at all? Leaving dents if you press in the skin?

No ,not at all. It's all very bizarre.

If the Dr who examined you physically isn't sure and has requested more tests to help assess you further I would venture that any opinions expressed here will be less helpful than waiting for your test results and discussing them with the doc.

The blood results are on the NHS app now and are all clear and normal. Will speak to the doctor Monday to see where we go from here.
I just wondered if anyone else had had this.

I have a lung condition called Bronchiectasis. This means that my lungs don’t clear mucous in the way that lungs should, so I get a build up. I have a crackle. I don’t cough. The mucous build up means that I’m prone to chest infections. I don’t even cough when I have chest infections (but I know that others with the condition cough all the time). I don’t feel breathless, but I know that others do. Bronchiectasis is a serious condition that needs daily management to stop it getting worse. One option you have is to ask for a referral to a respiratory specialist, if you had a CT scan (which in the UK your gp can’t request - it can only be requested by a specialist), then this would show whether you had bronchiectasis. They would also probably give you lung function tests. I don’t know much about other lung conditions, but the specialist would surely rule out other conditions too. I think I had bronchiectasis for years before I found out. I used to feel tired at times, and I think that that tiredness was caused by low level chest infections. I often used to bring up a small green ball of mucous. I asked my GP about that years ago and he said that that was ‘normal’. I feel better now that I’m managing it, more energy, less tired. I think the bronchiectasis may have been caused by silent reflux. Most people with bronchiectasis also have acid reflux. I hope this helps you, or someone else. You may have a much more benign reason for your crackle and breathlessness. Do you also feel tired?

Thank you for replying. Something to think about. No tiredness. Literally just slightly breathless, a little chest pain and the doctor heard fluid on one of my lungs.
