Just keep bf, best thing for baby's upset tum. Drink the diorlyte yourself.

You have my sympathy, I had 2 bouts of severe vomiting when lo was a few weeks old, in one of them I couldn't even keep water down, so didn't drink for 4 days.

Oh poor you. I know it's obvious but drink drink drink. I had an awful sickness bug when I was bfeeding DD and she got, via me, all the liquid I was able to manage and I got horribly dehydrated and ended up in hospital.

If your hands get sore with all the washing use latex gloves for poo cleaning duty.

Do you have anyone around who can help you?

Hi spongecake, much sympathy, our household is in recovery after a week of d&v, very nasty bug doing the rounds. Would second the advice here, drink as much as you can yourself and keep bf. Would also say that if at any point you're really not happy with the ammount of fluid db is getting or if he stops getting wet nappies then I would by pass GP and go straight to a&e as may need iv fluids. Dh works at our local children's hospital and there are a lot of kids in with this at the moment - nobody will think you're over-reacting if you feel you need to get db to hospital at any point. Very glad to hear your dh will be around, my FIL ended up coming over from Belfast to help us with the dcs and the extra hands made a big diff. Really hope you both feel better soon, it's rotten .
