Not literally...
Not thrush (no discharge) but last Thursday started to feel sore, itchy and now nearly a week later it's awful. Not sex related I don't think, and I'm not worried about STDs ..happily married for 35 years and trust dh completely (goes to work driving, comes home!)
The only thing I can think of is we got different bath soap a week or so ago..not that I scrub myself with it, but usually get Dove and it's Palmolive.
I used Canestan cream but no help, and currently plastered in Sudocreme like a baby . Tried Vagisil but it stung!
Getting a docs appointment is almost impossible so wondering if anyone has any suggestions!

This could be related to low oestrogen causing vaginal atrophy. As if getting older isn’t tough enough already…

Yep this. Easily treated with estrogen cream x

Have you taken Panadol and neurofen. Sounds obvious but never occured to me over years of suffering. It really helps

I find the tablet taken 3 days in a row, a internal cream containing nystatin (not the canesten) and going on zinc tablets clears it up for me

Agree with this. It sounds like you might need vagifem, I had the same experience, it was awful. The first doctor I saw (male in 30s) kept giving me more and more antibiotics and talking about not using soap "down there" I had to do my own research then asked for vagifem which sorted out the issue. I haven't had any problems since.

Agree with the other pps re VA. I had exactly the same symptoms at 49/50 even though I am on HRT. GP did the whole anti fungal/steroid cream thing but no help until finally had the right advice re estrogen pessaries and cream. It still has its moments but that acute and awful pain has gone. That GP said treat your vagina like your face, moisturise and don't let it ever dry out!

Scented toilet roll? Why oh why did anyone think this was ever a good idea?
I'm also suffering similar but think it is probably hormone related (on HRT and lost menopause). Still pursuing a diagnosis at the moment.
