Waking up with headaches every morning... anyone else overcome this!

Dr's no use, bloods start prediabetic. Was very anemic previously, now borderline.

Dr's say just to keep a headache diary, but do nothing with it. Just send for more bloods, been round this cycle 3 times. Every morning I wake up with a headache, dizziness and nausea. If its my period, it gets so bad i usually have to take a day or two off work. I often pray the day falls on a weekend so I don't have to take more time off.

I need help, my Dr's don't understand the suffering.

Just wondering if anyone else can help or support if been through similar and came out fixed?

I get night headaches more frequently in the last year and have put it down to perimenopause and fluctuating oestrogen levels. Are you perimenopausal or menopausal?

  1. Try Megavents. These fit inside your nostrils to prop them open, can help with snoring.
  2. When you last have an eye examination? Eye strain causes daily headaches.
  3. Dizziness and headache can be caused by an inner ear infection. These can be otherwise silent and be mistaken for BPPV. My "BPPV" mysteriously cleared up when I got bitten by a tick and took strong antibiotics to kill the early-stage Lyme Disease.
  4. A lump of earwax resting on the eardrum can also upset your balance. The audiologist removed a pea-sized lump from my right ear and my second dose of "BPPV" cleared up instantly.

I’d go for an eye test with oct scan as they can show things the dr won’t think of.they can see tumours, increased brain pressure (due to optic nerve )
a scan would be a good idea but the waiting lists are quite long but if the optician sees an issue they will refer you to the hospital

When you have daily or near-daily headaches, always ask yourself when your last eye exam was. There is zero downside to getting one, bar cost.

Have you ever seen a chiropractor? Neck problems can cause headaches.

Also teeth grinding. Maybe try a mouth guard at night?

If you sweat at night could be dehydration?

Make sure the sleeping room is not too hot also well ventilated.
Not too many bedclothes.
Sounds miserable.
Hope it gets better.

I suffer with chronic migraines, but recently I was waking up everyday with one. I upped the frequency of my acupuncture, I saw my GP and he upped some of my meds, I’ve recently had an MRI of my head so I knew there was nothing wrong there, but I couldn’t get rid of them. I started sleeping with one pillow, instead of two which helped a little bit, but I’d still have a bit of a headache in the mornings, so in desperation I bought one of these pillows last weekend. I haven’t had a headache all week. Not only that I don’t wake in the night as frequently as I was before either.

I’ve ordered another one for DH because he’s a terrible snorer and he suffers with neck and shoulder pain.

Just thought I’d update for anyone whose story is similar to mine (hormonal headaches and migraines approx 5 days a week for years, tried many tests and treatments).

I’ve seen a neurologist today and have been put on monthly injections (brand is Ajovy but I’m not sure if that’s the same in the UK) The hope is a 50% reduction within 3 months. I have high hopes that this will work for me, will try to remember to update down the line!
