Abnormal shoulders

For a few years my shoulders have always looked different; one higher, one lower and I've always suffered from discomfort and pain on the right side - i.e, burning pain, tender when pressed, almost like a nervy pain running down the side of my spine and muscle toughness. I've always passed it off as me overdoing things, but the discomfort is becoming more of a problem and the difference in how my shoulders look as well. I'm going to call my doctors tomorrow to get myself booked in, but that could be 2 months down the line. I'm just wondering if anyone else has suffered from similar and what it was. Images attached.

My niece has scoliosis (as one condition that's part of other congenital stuff she was born with). One of her shoulders is higher than the other as a result and we're anxiously watching to see how adolescence affects how her spine continues to develop. I take it you were never examined for scoliotic changes at any point, OP? I couldn't say if that would explain the changes in your shoulder and the associated pain, but someone else here may well know more. I'm sorry you're suffering in the way you describe.

My shoulder do similar and it is because my pelvis is tilted and twisted.

I see an osteopath who manipulates me back in to line and my shoulders get level and my shoulder/neck/back/sciatic pain goes. She is a magician! Eventually I forget to do the stretching/strengthening exercises or over exert myself and put it all out again, and I have to go back to her. The more I remember to do the exercises, the longer I can go between appointments (I'm on about 2 years at the moment!).

My GP referred me to physio but that didn't change anything. Osteopathy was the answer for me.

I have similar where only one side of my collarbone is visible. Also, if I'm wearing jeans, the fly clearly runs diagonally rather than vertical!

My GP described it as scoliosis where my spine is slightly rotating, so one side of my pelvis etc is forward compared to the other. Not needed any specific treatment, but a sports massage once a fortnight really seems to help.

Best to pursue and try and get X-rays.
My shoulder issues were commented on by others though I did not see the problem. It was my back trying to cope with a femur deformity that was in turn creating pelvis and shoulder issues . By not getting help early enough I then created additional spinal and other problems.
It takes a couple of months where I live to get a routine GP appointment and then even more time for X-rays etc so I understand your concerns about delays. Hopefully it will be worth it to get a diagnosis and preventative treatment.

To check if you have scoliosis you can bend down forward with feet together so that you are nearly touching your toes. If your back is not even and shows an imbalance, a hump for example, it's very likely that you have it.
