Any experiences with ivabradine for IST

Just looking for any experiences with ivabradine. I have been prescribed it for inappropriate sinus tachycardia however my hr jumps from low to high and I’m scared to take it in case my hr goes too low (I have hr going to 60s in the day and 50s in the night but cardiologist is not really concerned).
Did anyone have any experience with it and did it help, i have IST probably after Covid together with chest tightness and fatigue.

I had IST during COVID times. I could barely climb upstairs or take a shower. Also went into fast AF a few times and ended up with a cardiac ablation.
I never took Ivabridine although it was mentioned at one point. I took Propafenone for several months which gave me my life back. Am now only on beta blockers but my hr is often in the 40's.

Was it prescribed by the cardiologist? It’s contraindicated in people with a resting HR of under 70 so did they explain why they were prescribing it despite this?

I had it prescribed quite a number of years ago, by a cardiologist, for supraventricular tachycardia and it really helped slow and regulate my heart rhythm. Still on it although last time I saw him I think he said my tachycardia is no longer svt. My resting heartrate, according to my fitbit, is 63 - and I no longer get those horrible periods of a real racing heart.

@gynaeissue yes it was and cardiologist was not concerned but i still feel uneasy to start it

Well then you need to go back to cardiologist or GP I guess and tell them that. It’s been good for me, I assume they’ve started you on the lowest dose and you could stick at that or stop it if it drops too low (guided by a doctor)

I have inappropriate SVT and was given Bisoprolol, it works wonders and no racing heart anymore
