If your having a Doctors appointment about a stressful topic. Is it really frowned upon to take someone with you when your an adult? I'm well known for fluffing things up or hearing a completely different thing to what someone actually said.. Would the doctor look down on it?

Not at all. I used to go with an elderly male neighbour, because I was nursing 40 years,so he said I could listen and explain things for him later. I also have a ds in his 40s with bipolar and I go with him. Recently my dgd had an accident, I went in with her DM and the consultant thought I was the mum.

A second person can help take notes and help remind you of questions you wanted to ask. It can make the appointment much more efficient and effective in addition to allowing for emotional support.

the only reason a support person might be a problem is if that person impairs your ability to answer questions honestly.
