Vit d borderline low - enough to cause symptoms

Have been feeling fatigued/ low energy and getting repeatedly ill. Had a blood test and vit d was 49nmol so classed as borderline low. Is this likely to be having an effect on my health? Most people discussing deficiencies on here are talking readings in the 20s. I know ferritin slightly below optimal can have a real effect but can’t find any data on borderline low vit d. Rest of blood results were ok - ferritin 36, b12 oddly 940 but dr said that wasn’t significant. Thanks all

Everyone in the UK should be supplementing their vit D.

When I had a d deficiency it was through the floor, but I realised I'd been feeling progressively worse for weeks and weeks. There must have been a point at which I had borderline levels. If I'd have started supplementing at that stage I could have avoided such a low level a few weeks later.

So yes, id supplement. Consider a supplement with k2 to help absorption.

Yes without supplements during the winter I pick up everything, fatigued, muscle aches/twitches, poor sleep it really does help.

@AlwaysFreezing thank you. I normally do supplement with vit d but with returning to work post partum and lots going on, I realised I’d not taken vit d since last winter. I was shocked when I reaeised. I wish I had my level pre winter!
