Has anyone had these ? I am late 30s considering these as I really just need all my teeth out ,
my mum never took me to the dentist as a child due to her own phobia so that made me scared and now I only go if I pay for sedation when I need an extraction done I’ve had this twice now , but my teeth are in a awful state and I just want all removed rather then keep going for one out etc .
I thought about dentures but someone said my face would shrink etc I am going to go private . Sadly the whole 4 on all implant is around 20-30k which I don’t have so I’d need to pay monthly. I’ve heard of 21D who offer it for 17k but I’m unsure and there quite a distance from me . I need iv sedation aswell .
would you pay extra to stay local or go for the 21D at 17k . Or people with dentures are they ok ? I’m really at my lowest point with this and need to get them sorted asap .

I wouldn't, but I would make an appointment with a dentist to discuss what might be suitable for you. See more than one dentist.

if you are looking at ads in a newspaper or similar then be extremely wary.

Books1234 · 19/02/2025 20:24

I know someone that has these and she has nothing but issues with them, plus it’s really hard to keep the gum area clean from food debris etc

BellissimoGecko · 19/02/2025 20:26

I'd go to a dentist that focuses on keeping the teeth you have. Honestly.

UpMyself · 19/02/2025 20:58

@Nowherelefttoturn2 , find a dentist you can trust. I'm really scared of needles but have found a dentist that I can trust. I've had extractions without any anaesthetic, and can tell you it's very painful but not for long.
I've had sedation (before my current dentist) but wouldn't again.

Implants have a lifespan, and you might find that they won't last more than about a decade.

If you go for all on 4, what if one fails?

30s is too young to be thinking of having all your teeth out.

Nowherelefttoturn2 · 20/02/2025 08:15

What about dentures then ? I’m late 30s and this issue is ruining my life I hate my teeth that much . I read about those implants online but would consider just having dentures then maybe implants if I can in future.

Please, please talk to a reputable dentist about all the options rather than paying one of these “specialists”. You are still very young and need whatever you go for to last for decades.

i understand your reluctance and just wanting to get it done, i was completely dental phobic as well for years and my teeth were a mess. I found a lovely dentist I 100% trust, I now have the best looking teeth I have had in my life after 18 months of appointments and extensive work, and I am not scared at all.

bozzabollix · 20/02/2025 08:24

I was really phobic but found an absolutely brilliant dentist who’s really calm and reassuring. I completely trust her. I’d be looking to keep your own teeth, implants are a last option - I’m about to have one and it’ll be about £3k!

Nowherelefttoturn2 · 20/02/2025 08:31

I do not want a load of work my phobia is very bad as said I only have gone when the pain is indescribable and then I’ve paid for sedation to get it done . I just want them out when under sedation. I literally shake and sweat getting into that chair

I think you’d be silly not to get advice from a dentist before getting rid of your teeth. Implants are very painful and take months of multiple appointments. They aren’t the “easy” option.

Gloriousgardener11 · 20/02/2025 08:34

Have you tried hypnotherapy to get over the phobia, it may be worth considering.

stayathomer · 20/02/2025 08:35

Op I’m in the same situation (not mums fault, I just lost teeth with each child I had, was embarrassed to go back and now even have parts of teeth embedded in my gums. Don’t get them all out. Why would you honestly do that? They’ll be able to fix and save some and will teach you to look after them. I’ve only been back recently but they were so less judgy than one I’d gone to years ago. I think it’s about finding the right dentist for you. Giant hugs and best of luck x

Doggymummar · 20/02/2025 08:35

My partner has a dental plan and has implants and is about to have another one. They are about £3k each but he doesn't have sedation. His brother and sister are low income/benefits and had all their teeth removed and have really nice looking dentures. Talk to a dentist about your options. They had all the teeth out at once under sedation. The family have something wrong dentally that they can't keep teeth. Nephews are going through it at the minute.

UpMyself · 20/02/2025 08:52

We're probably seeing the same one @bozzabollix . I trust her completely.

@Nowherelefttoturn2 , try a partial denture before going for a full one.

Nowherelefttoturn2 · 20/02/2025 09:04

If anyone can recommend a place that would do this and offers sedation. I’ve found a local place which is private but they don’t offer sedation but I may go there so they tell me my options . Nearest place that offers sedation I can find is just over hour away I’m in Lincolnshire if that helps

UpMyself · 20/02/2025 12:12

I'm not in Lincolnshire, but your best bet is to have an initial consultation with 2 or 3 dentists, and find out what options are available to you.

They will only look at your teeth, and maybe take an x-ray. They won't judge or criticise.

The dentist will probably be able to recommend a dental surgery that does sedation. That's what happened to me 1st time. The chap who did the implants was lovely. Subsequent implants were dome under local anaesthetic by my current dentist, and she's even nicer.

catadamss · 20/02/2025 12:37

My mom has had 5 implants done before and is very happy with them.

Hello.
I've just got back from Turkey where I've had the first stage of a full mouth of implants. I've got 4 upper and 6 lower. This is costing me a fraction of what it would cost me in the UK. I have spent many years with all manner of dental problems. Extra wisdom teeth, tooth loss, infections etc. 4 years ago, I got a partial denture and was very pleased with it.

Unfortunately, my gum disease got so advanced, my remaining teeth started to wobble and the infections returned and that together with the bone loss dentures cause, I started looking into alternatives. I wanted to take control before I lost all my teeth. A close friend has had a top set of implants and encouraged me to consider them. She had hers done in Romania. Anyway, I found and researched a clinic in Turkey. We love Turkey and have been several times on holiday and so I made an appointment and combined the appointment with a holiday. They took all my teeth out, under iv sedation and i now have 10 implants.

They have been amazing, fully explained everything and really looked after me. They dropped me back to my villa afterwards and I've got a full set of temporary dentures to use while I heal. The clinic is clean and high tech.
I go back in February to get the teeth attached. I'm not going to lie, it hurts, but nothing some ibuprofen won't handle and I was bruised and swollen afterwards, but the thought of being able to eat properly and have a smile I'm going to be proud of far outway any of that.
