Embarrassing skin tag type thing in bum cheeks

I know I should just go to doc, and I will at some point, but I’ve got a small round skin tag sort of thing inside of my bum cheeks. Don’t know how to describe it. Not near my anus but just inside the cheeks where they rub together. I must have had it for at least 20 or more years but for some reason have just started thinking about it. It feels smooth and kind of firm and rubbery and I can squeeze it and it deflates a bit, maybe filled with fluid/blood? Doesn’t seem to have increased in size much over the years.
I am stressed about some family stuff going on at the moment which has increased my anxiety about everything.
Surely if I’ve had it so long it can’t be anything to worry about? Please be gentle as I suffer from health anxiety.

If you’ve had it so long with no significant changes and it’s not giving you problems I wouldn’t have thought it was anything to worry about. But you are just going to have to get it checked for your own piece of mind.

Thank you. That’s what I’m trying to tell myself. I’ve made it a bit sore with all the prodding and poking I’ve been doing but that’s what happens when my anxiety spikes. Can’t leave it alone.
I think I’ll just have to go and flash my arse to the doctor if I don’t calm down ☹️

I used to suffer quite badly with health anxiety myself so understand but stop with the prodding. You will only make things sore which draws more attention to the issue. And don’t be embarrassed about seeing doctor. You can always ask to see a female.

I’m going to make an appointment and get it checked. I’ll just have to get over my embarrassment and fingers crossed all is ok.

Go and get it checked out. If it's just a skin tag, Doctors generally don't remove them unless they're causing you pain, itchy or bleeding. I had one around that area myself. Yep, I whipped my bottom out for the doctor. 😂 He really wasn't bothered and neither was I. It was bleeding and I had it scheduled to be frozen off, but then one day it fell off by itself. I also have a few on my neck and I've just bought some treatment recommended to me to try and remove them myself. I know what you mean though, I find myself prodding them and touching them because I hate them so much.

Thank you SparklesandRainbows It’s in such an awkward position 😳
Not quite sure what it is , doesn’t look like the normal skin tags I’ve seen, more like a little pea, but hoping that as I’ve had it so long it can’t be too bad. Luckily I’ve managed to book an appointment for tomorrow

@Sheepslippers good luck! 🤞🏼 hopefully it's some kind of skin tag or something but definitely best to get it checked out and put your mind at rest.

Sheepslippers · 20/02/2025 13:31

No it’s not there. It’s on the underneath bit where you sit down.

I’ve done all the googling. Can’t find anything but tbh I can’t get that close of a look. Would have to be a contortionist 🤣

Just an update. It’s a skin tag, albeit quite a fleshy one doc says. If it doesn’t settle down in a few weeks I have to go back and they will see about cutting it off 😳
Its quite sore at the moment but I daren’t put anything on it in case it makes it worse.
So it’s wait and see.

@Sheepslippers that's good news I'm glad you've got an answer :)

I’ve been putting sudocrem on it because of the soreness because and it appears to be shrinking. Definitely not as swollen as before. Might be a coincidence but it seems to be helping.
Hopefully it might drop off on its own.

OP pleased it’s nothing to worry about.
I use sudocrem for everything. Marvellous stuff. Hopefully things resolve.
