I have a spur on my septum - what will they do?

I've been under investigation for chronic sinus issues for years now.

I've just received the letter that says they've seen a spur on my septum when doing a nasendoscopy. A Google search has told me it causes literally all of my issues.

My question is what will they actually do? Will they operate or just leave it as it is?

Bumping because Google is throwing up a ton of questions including whether I'd actually ever be eligible for surgery as I'm overweight, but I've lost 20% of my body weight in the last year?

I'm so confused

Have they not done a CT scan?

Not yet. It could be up to 22 weeks before I get one, and then another 22 weeks before I get in to discuss the results etc

No chance of going private? I had the same, CT showed Spur and deviated septum so had a septoplasty, DH also had it but needed Sinus surgery too (twice) - not much you can do until the CT :(

It's £800 :( tempted to speak with my parents but they're helping me financially with another big expense too, so I think the surgery is a step too far

I'm just concerned that because I'm overweight (but losing weight and determined to get to a healthy weight!), I won't be eligible for surgery

Maybe just wait and hope by the end of this year something will be sorted - tbh though, I had mine done on NHS, DH has had it twice Privately and we still both get chronic headaches so it's a bit pants :(

I'm seeing such mixed stories online. I just want to get some relief from it to be honest
