Repeat blood test in 3 months terrified what this means.

I've been experiencing stomach issues for a couple of months - gas, gurgling and abdominal discomfort after eating. The gurgling has settled down a lot, as has the abdominal pain. I've had quite a few days where my stomach has felt back to normal or only mildly windy. No appetite problems, bloating, blood etc.

The doctor said there were no red flag symptoms but ordered tests. I've had a FIT test which has come back as 4. Got to give a stool sample for H Pylori and Celiac tests. However, I have had a text from the surgery to say I need to repeat the blood test in 3 months time.

I am terrified that my results are abnormal otherwise why would they need repeating? I have spent the past few months an anxious mess worrying I have cancer and now I've got a further 3 months of worry ahead. I've also had a lot of personal stress.

I had a similar health episode 10 years ago when my mum died. Same symptoms and all results were clear then. I've always had intermittent IBS type symptoms and anxiety really affects my guts. How do I stay calm without the 'what ifs' taking over? I don't know if it's a good idea to speak to the doctor because if he tells me eg 'your levels of x are raised' I'll probably Google it and I've done too much of that already!

I don't want to sound smart or dismissive, but did you ask at the GPs why they want you back in three months?

Repeat bloods are (in my experience) to see if there is a pattern or an increase or decrease in levels that are borderline at the moment. Doesn't signify anything right now, otherwise they'd have had you back immediately for something serious. Which is unlikely to be diagnosed from a blood test alone anyway.
