no experience yet, sorry. But I'm interested to hear how you get on if you have it. Is it NHS?

I had an ultrasound steroid injection recently and deposits were seen then. But as I was having the steroid that day, nothing else was done. How long afterwards were you referred for the barbotage? I'd quite like to have the deposits out, rather than waiting for them to reabsorb, which sounds very painful. But I"m not sure what needs to happen before being referred, whether a good response to an injection is helpful, or if it means they wait til it wears off before referring me. The wait for simple ultrasound guided injections is about 5 months in my trust, so I can imagine this would be much longer and I"d rather be on the list soon if so. I don't even know if the NHS offers it. I have seen it advertised privately.

I paid to see a consultant and have the Barbotage. It’s 350 but I can move my arm ok. It’s the pain it’s causing in my back and shoulder blades. What have your symptoms been. Did the steroid work for you.

I had a subacromial decompression a while ago which helped the pain I'd had a lot, but still wasn't healing as well from it as I hoped, and a scan then showed the calcium. So hard to know what was from the impingement and what was the calcium, and whether I still have the worst bit still to come! The steroid has helped, especially the night pain. My symptoms recently were mostly on movement rather than all theh time, but not in my back or shoulder blades, just my arm/neck/front of shoulder. It's nowhere near as bad as it was before the surgery and the weeks after, though.

i've read that some people need the barbotage more than once, though. And if it's still a problem, then sometimes surgery.
