Are private health care insurances worth it in the UK?

Hi there! I have a 3 years old and I just made a private health insurance. The paediatric public hospital where I live has been responding well to my son's urgent needs. I've read my insurance company's list of exclusions and it is quite long and now I thinking that it might not be worth it. Basically, it seems that having an insurance is only good for cancer or leukemia....however, NhS already has a good response to this, I believe. What is your experience? Thanks.

Anything you or your son already has will be excluded, it's basically for cancer and acute things like hip replacements, not chronic conditions.

It can be amazing if it is provided as an employee perk as it often covers pre-existing conditions in that case. I’ve had well over £30k of treatment for pre-existing MH issues in the past year under my partners employee medical insurance policy.
