back in 2023 I was diagnosed with EColi I had it really bad was sick for months bed bound I finally recovered then two months after I recovered I started experiencing chest pains, shortness of breath, pain all over my body I’ve been to the doctors as it’s still on going to this day I’ve had blood test which are always fine I just have low folate so I’m on medication for this I’ve been referred to cardiology for test scans and have all come back fine and I have been discharged pain went for a few months then boom it’s hit me again I’m tired of feeling like there is somthing wrong but doctors just say bloods are fine your fine or see how you get on any ideas

How old are you, what was your last iron blood level, what is making you anaemic?

ForLimeRaven · 24/01/2025 10:27

I’m 25 I’m not sure what my reading for iron was all I know is my folate is very low sitting at 1.5 not sure I have irregular periods not sure if all this is related or not

This honestly sounds like me minus the ecoli part. Are you taking folic acid as your folate is very low.also what is your ferritin, b12 vit d etc as I was alwaus told all normal but pining fb groups etv everyone has said my levels are very low

ForLimeRaven · 28/07/2025 15:12

I was taking folate my levels are back to normal now chest pains aren’t as bad as they used to be hardly get them now I do generally think it could be down to anxiety 😦

@ForLimeRaven ah that's good to hear. How long did it take being on the folic acid to start feeling a bit better please? X

ForLimeRaven · 28/07/2025 15:16

I was on the tablets for 2 months and I’d say after the first 3 weeks I started feeling a bit better

To be honest if you were bed bound for 2 months you will have lost a lot of fitness, and I don't think 2 months would be long enough go feel fully recovered. I think judging 10 months would be a better indicator of recovery, thinking back to times I've need surgery and been laid up for a couple of months.

Things like getting out into fresh air (not polluted air) walking for an hour a day will help enormously with your chest.
