Thickening/swollen area under left ribs

Thickening/swollen area under left ribs.

Any ideas?

Doctor not sure and had referred me on for Ultrasound and CT. However NHS waiting times means this could be a long wait.

I am wondering if it is an enlarged spleen…just worried it is something worse.

I went to see about it in the summer and the nurse said it was just wind without and examination.

I have that & i thought the same, it literally looks like my spleen is protruding - but it turned out to be Subcutaneous fat, diagnosed via ultrasound. I have a few more fatty lumps now towards my belly button, they don't bother me so I just live with them now.
Try not to worry, you would have many symptoms if it was your spleen 🤞 you can ask gp escalate the referral if its too long.

Is it literally swollen or feels swollen?

So when I lie down my left hand is about the size of whatever it is. It doesn’t look swollen but it feels like there is something there.

Following this Op cos I had the same but nothing showed up on ultra sound and they said I didn't need a MRI

But I can still feel as though something is in there.

This is so interesting because I have the exact same thing. I feel like there is something swollen inside of me. Sometimes I can hear and feel gas there but the feeling is always present and has been for months. I’ve had a CT scan which was clear. Colonoscopy is the next thing.

I am hoping it isn’t anything to worry about…just when you start using Dr Google you start to worry.
