Conjunctiitis?

My DD (5) had a slightly pink eye all day yesterday. This morning same thing and the other one is slightly. However she has no other symptoms. No gunk, no scratching, itching, rubbing etc. Is this still conjunctivitis? I have no experience as we somehow have never had this. We are having a family get together later. Do we still go? Do I get some cream for it or wait and watch? Also can she go to school tomorrow? Thanks for your help

Could simply be dry eyes. Conjunctivitis is usually very irritating, and causes the eye to close up at night due to gunk.

Another explanation is a slight reaction to something - has she been putting any lotions or potions on her face?

I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it gets worse.

Thanks belgo.

Could also be viral conjunctivitis (they usually have a cold with it) as it's milder. It clears on it's own.

She has had a cold recently clucky. Not sure what to do about family get together? Do we go? There will be other children there but i dont want to miss it if not necessary as do not see them often.

I would go. There are usually more symptoms for conjunctivitis. I often get pink eyes due to having dry eyes, and that wouldn't stop me going to things.

I wouldn't go out though if I was certain it was conjunctivitis.

Thanks. Will wait and see how it goes as the day goes on. I am going up the town later so may show the pharmsist as we are there.

If bacterial and nasty I woulnd't go, if viral I would go as it just doesn;t seem to pass from family member to family member (never mind anybody else)
