Want to see someone about supplements. (I take a random amount). Would a nutritionist just try to sell me more??

I have coeliac disease and had a time when I needed to supplement. That was years ago, and now I feel like I take every faddy thing. I take the really good quality ones though!

I have no idea if I’m taking the wrong or right thing or too much. So I want to see an excellent and really reputable nutritionist and ask them to look at what I’m taking and what’s necessary and what’s not.

I’m worried they might just try and sell me on more, or actually not have any idea.

Any ideas?

Get a referral to a gastro dietitian. They can help with a good balanced diet and supplements if you need them but can't sell you anything (legally). Many dietitians are prescribers now too.

I feel a bit exhausted by the NHS, tbh. They missed my coeliac for years even though I kept suggesting it and any kind of referral where I live takes SO long.

I am happy to pay someone! Just don’t want someone who wants my money in exchange for fear / more supplements!

I will look into a private gastro dietician!

I'm sorry to hear that. That's not the case generally, thankfully.
Try this for a private RD www.bda.uk.com/find-a-dietitian.html

Do not see a nutritionist, that is not a protected title and anyone can use it regardless of if they have any actual knowledge or training. As recommended above, see a proper dietician.

Echoing @TooManyNiblings anyone, including you can call themselves a nutritionist.

That's not true any more, nutritionists can be registered now

We have some working in the NHS now, with dietitians and independently
