Has anyone had glandular fever TWICE :-(

This is just f**king great.
Have been feeling under the weather lately, first a tummy bug, then a chest infection then a horrible cold. Had some blood test before xmas at the doctors as I have to have them regularly for the drugs I am on for crohn's disease.

I had Glandular Fever last year (nov to april on and off) and for some reason I thought you could only get it once. Have just been back to the Dr who said she thinks I may have it again as my liver tests are awry again.

I have been very tired lately but not as bad as I was when I had gf before. Has anyone experienced this? Is it as bad second time round?

I don't think I can face it again - am supposed to be ttc, was going to last year but the gf meant I couldn't. If I have it again there is no way I can go ahead with it.

Thanks so much pru - I do have a great homeopath who specialises in GF and fatigue and stuff here I must call her and get her to post me some vile herbs!

Thanks also for the juicing tips!

pru have just bought pretty much everything on that list apart from sage as they had run out. Plus lots of fruit tea etc to avoid caffeine and fizzy water to replace my usual half bottle of wine

CountessDracula · 11/01/2005 18:42

do you have to be on azathioprine for life? I was thinking of trying to get off it as am sick of being ill all the time

I was on azathioprine with my 1st transplant which lasted 12 yrs.I had another in 2000 and am on cyclosporin this time.generally immuno's are for life as if you stop them the immune system flares up.did you notice any effects on the baby from azathioprine?Apparently it shouldn't be taken when pregnant but I only found this out after ds was born.He was early and quite small but healthy and full of life

CountessDracula · 12/01/2005 12:28

CD - just came across this thread. How are you feeling now? Hope it wasn't glandular fever again - how dreadful that would be! Hope you've been able to take care of yourself, and are feeling up to speed.

lucy5 · 13/02/2005 22:02
