Childhood psoriasis?

Hi just wondered if anyone has any experience of this?

My DS was excluded from school yet again last week because of raised red patches on his face that have been variously diagnosed as eczema, ringworm and impetigo.

I have just googled psoriasis on the advice of my cousin who is also a sufferer and the description and photos are identical, red around the outside with scaly silvery bits in the middle of the plaques. It explains why all the medications he has been prescribed have never worked!

Wondering if I could get some seaweed and put it in the bath for him, or maybe just some sea salt given the state of the beaches around here!

No chance of any sun!

Have you tried goats milk ?
The supermarket stuff is not great tasting but it is also quite good if applied on to the psoratic bits.
If you were able to get a supply from someone who keeps goats and try a caprine diet ie goats cheese, yoghurt, milk etc then this can help.
Flavourings help initially and fresh milk does not have a goaty smell.
Dead sea salts in the bath can also help.

My Mum was once told my psor was ringworm
I've had it since I was 5 and now I rarely treat it, as constant rubbing in creams pissed me off and having psor doesn't piss me off! I love it when I see a new Dr and they start in with the latest wonder cure!

just to say i don't think you can use dovobet on the face as the dovonex part can be really irritating to the face (if I use the scalp solution and accidently touch my face I get a red irritated rash)

never heard of oregon grape before, sounds interesting. Am carrying my own little snow shower generator atm (aka my scalp)

gps should take it more seriously (so says my derm)

Dead sea salts can be quite soothing

oh and some people react really well to gluten free diets .. and that's an easy thing to try for a month or so
