Possible b12 or iron defeciency? Nonstop tingling

On new years eve I got a bit of tingling in my feet, thought nothing of it and later that night my legs were a little numb, i also sometimes get tingly hands and numbness in arms along with brain fog, get out of breath easier and very bad fatigue.

I felt so bad and defeated on 1st Jan I broke down crying thinking this is permanent, went to walk in and they said could be anemia but have to wait for my blood test to come back but I'm worried nothing will transpire from the test.

I've done so much research on what it could be, from diabetes and peripheral neuropathy to iron or b12 deficiency and iron or b12 seem the most likely suspect from my symptoms and what others have said their symptoms are.

My diet has been quite bad, I am obese and now want to make drastic changes for the long term.

Is this likely a b12 or iron defeciency if so which would you suspect more likely? I did a complete blood count test I think it's called should get results Monday, but I'm worried the tingling will never go away as some have said it could be permanent. I will do ANYTHING to get better. I've been taking a multivitamin and iron gummy daily since 6th jan

If the blood test doesn't go anywhere, should I ask for specific tests in b12 or iron? I really want to get on top of this ASAP as either nerve damage can be permanent once you have these symptoms or if you have them for too long. I'm worried sick.

Any help would be greatly appreciated PLEASE.

Iron supplements take a while to work so keep taking them and you might see an improvement in 4-6 weeks if it's that. I had terrible iron deficiency symptoms after a big haemorrhage but then iron supplements made me feel like a new woman.

Do you smoke? I think numb/tingly fingers is a symptom smokers get

It could be lots of different things and only time and bloodtests etc will tell speaking from experience. Even too much b6 can cause this! Id suggest in the meantime evaluation of your diet & nutrition. Are you diabetic?

That was one of my symptoms of B12 deficiency and low ferritin- tingling, fatigue, forgetfulness. Diagnosed with coeliac disease and on a gluten free diet. Now all bloods are testing normal (except Vitamin D so I'm on supplements for that)

Don't smoke, just have a bad diet which I need to sort now ASAP.

Did your tingling go away once you get levels to a more normal range? How long for improvements to start? I'm worried if I don't get started soon it'll be permanent. I am thinking about going private for b12 injections if Dr's doesn't help in a timely manner

I was worried at first it was diabetes, until I get my blood test back mon/Tues I'm in the dark, I bought a blood sugar kit and did a mix of fasting and 2hrs after meal tests, 4.2mmol/l fasting and 8.2mmol/l just under 2hrs after eating. Conflicting reports if that's classed as normal or prediabetes, nhs walk in and A&E said normal level along with my type 1 friend

Try not to worry about it until you get the test back on Tuesday. You've only just started the iron/multivitamin so you need to wait to see if that works, too.

Whatever it is, there's no point worrying till you have more info. Trying to self-diagnose diabetes with home kits isn't a sensible thing to do. Your gp can refer you to a fasting blood sugar test service if they think it's a possible avenue to investigate.

Why not spend this weekend batch cooking a healthy meal. That's something in your control here and now.

Please don't worry or Dr Google Doomscroll. Await your bloods & let the GP run appropriate tests. If you're still tingling & no answers come back to mn and see if anyone can suggest further causes. Good luck!
