Help with reading urine test strip results (images included)

Hoping someone can help me read this properly.

I'm menopausal and have the mirena coil fitted. I've been feeling tired all the time, have a regular urge to pee and have lost 15kg in 6months without trying. Diabetes runs in the family which has made me get some test strips to see if it gave me a hint of anything before contacting the GP.

I'm reading these results and am quite concerned.

Ketones and glucose show as normal but it appears to be extremely high in both Leukocytes and blood and positive for nitrile

Please can someone confirm they are reading it the same as me?

TIA

It’s probably a uti OP. Go and see the pharmacist or GP

Looks like you have a UTI if it was a true midstream sample.

If not, it might just be contaminated with some vaginal discharge.

This shows the categories better.

As others have said it looks like a UTI, if you had high levels of glucose with ketones then it could be an indication of needing further tests to rule out diabetes. But at the moment you should go to the pharmacy for some treatment for a urine infection.

JC03745 · 10/01/2025 18:26

You have a urine infection!
I'd be seeing your GP for further testing about the weight loss too!

Conqueeftador · 10/01/2025 18:34

I think you should see your gp op. It’s most likely to be a urine infection, but the weight loss and tiredness could point to something more serious, so in this instance I’d say GP is the right option here, rather than a pharmacist (who would be ideal if it was just the frequency and urinalysis results).

Agree with others - nitrates, leucocytes & blood indicate uti. Blood could be contamination if on period.
Glucose & ketones would be indicators for diabetes.

Thank all for your replies - very helpful.
I will make an appointment with my GP.

You can go to the pharmacy for the uti. My GP has actually stopped accepting urine samples
