I think I'm allergic to my work.

I've been having issues with my sinuses for the last few years. I used to get recurrent sinus infections, I don't seem to get them anymore, possibley due to using dymista long term.

But my sinuses get inflamed after I work for 3 hours online. Then I get allergy symptoms too, like stingy or itchy eyes and itchy ears. The sinus headache that comes with it is the worst though.
I have been referred to ENT about a year ago but not heard anything yet.

I have cut out milk as apparently that makes sinus issues worse. I have cut out caffeine too.

I read that stress can cause your body to produce histamine and I think that's what's happening although I don't really feel stressed but I can't ignore the pattern anymore.

What am I supposed to do? I take antihistamine tablets daily prescribed by GP , but they don't make a difference but I'm too scared to stop them incase it is making a minimal difference.

Has anyone had this? Has anything helped? Should I try a different antihistamine?

I love my work and I'm not willing to give it up. I'm a psychotherapist.
I'm not sure if it's the work itself or eye strain from looking at a screen, I don't know if it's a sensory thing with making all that eye contact, I am ND. I don't know if it's information overload. I can't detach all those things to work it out anyway.

Antihistamines can actually make your eyes more dry. Dymista also contains an antihistamine already (plus a steroid).

Your eye symptoms could simply be due to dryness. I’d go and have an eye exam - it’s a good idea anyway as long term use of nasal steroids can cause eye problems.

That's only a small part of it though. I get itchy eyes, itchy ears, glands get swollen and a stuffy head ache. The sinuses that armt the top of my nose get really inflamed and they hurt. I also get pain in my sinus behing one of my upper cheeks.

The last eye test I had was 10 months ago.

What's the humidity level in your house/room you work in? I have all those symptoms and a tricky damp problem at the moment.

In the rooms I work in it's fine. In my bedroom it can get damp but its OK now.

Any mould in your house?

I'd have said no (to mine), and I sleep with bedroom window open: it's literally open 12ish hours a day. And yet I found a MASSIVE patch of black mould round the window, and I need to now investigate to see where else it is.
