Does anyone have (or have a child) with Erb's palsy as a result of shoulder dystocia and be interested in a (probably very slow, not very busy) thread on this. I am the only person I have ever met with this condition and the vast bulk of physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths etc I have seen over my lifetime have never previusly had a patient with it. I also didn't, until recently, even know what it was called! Somehow, in the endless treatments and appointments I had as a child... this somehow was never actually communicated to me.
I am feeling quite sorry for myself right now as a big problem for me is if I don't look after it properly (massage, excercise, chiropractor), it gets very stiff and sore in my shoulder/neck arm and can be difficult to release. For whatever reason, this is particularly bad this time so the pain is quite high and it's not getting better particularly quickly. This is luckily quite unusual for me so I'm just trying to decide what is the best plan to sort it - I've had two chiro sessions which have helped immensely and I can feel the difference but I suspect I need to go get a proper massage.
