Worried about breast? Trigger warning BC

Sensitive picture warning. I noticed a mark on my right breast a few weeks ago, but I just presumed I’d bumped into something. It doesn’t hurt, but has definitely now got bigger. I can’t remember when it first appeared, but perhaps 3-4 weeks ago.

However I now see the mark has appeared on the other breast, and it’s definitely redder today. My husband commented it has changed.

I will make a doctors appointment tomorrow but I have 10 month old twins so looking after myself hasn’t been top of the priority list (alongside nursery settling sessions, moving house etc).

Does anyone think this looks like inflammatory breast cancer? Or any idea what it does look like? I’m not breast feeding, generally healthy, 30 years old. A little worrying. Sorry for TMI picture. Promise I’m not a troll, I have years of threads already.

You’re doing the right thing speaking to the GP but I wouldn’t have thought IBC would occur on both sides. Are you wearing a new bra, using any creams or anything different? Could it be hormone related? Hopefully you’ll get some reassurance from Doctor.

Thanks, I’ll give them a ring in the morning. Literally changed nothing, no new skincare (I probably should but don’t!) and no new bras.

I’ve sent a message to the doctor but it’ll be a few weeks until I get an appointment, does anyone think I need to rush this?

Not medical bit if you have a concern that ot could be BC, let your gp know

If you're concerned about inflammatory breast cancer then say so on the phone - you need an urgent appointment.

Definitely call the GP and ask for an urgent appointment as any breast changes need to be checked.

However, from the picture, it looks like you have similar marks on the abdomen. Have you lost/gained weight recently? As it could be new stretch marks emerging.

I rang back and said sorry to be a pain but I’d really rather it was checked sooner than in 3 weeks and they’re going to get back to me. 🙂However yes I have lost weight, about 2 stone since the twins were born 10 months ago so I hadn’t even thought of that! How silly is that. Thank you.

You should definitely get it checked out, but if it helps you not to worry, I had a mark like that that appeared on one breast and continued to get darker/bigger over about 6 months then randomly disappeared and has never come back. My GP couldn’t have been less concerned about it. Hopefully yours will turn out to be nothing too but definitely get it checked.
