Changed doctors surgeries, now need appointment, which to call?

As it says on the tin :-)

I applied to change doctors surgeries last Thursday, it takes five working days to transfer us over.

DD now needs an appointment this side of Christmas (fever which isn't coming down).

Which surgery is most likely to see us?

Obviously I will call both, but want to prioritise the one most likely to see us as I know appointments will be super competitive and certainly if I'm not on the phone with our current surgery for 8.29am, everything will have gone for the day...

If you haven't had it confirmed that you have been accepted by the new surgery (you normally have to take ID in, etc) then you're still registered at the old one, so phone them first.

I agree with the PP, I think your original surgery has an obligation to see you

Superb, thank you. No notification yet so I'll give my original one a call.

Whole reason we're moving is they are so difficult to get an appointment with (even by strained-NHS standards), so readying myself for a battle!

Old surgery

Your new surgery is obliged to see you for "immediate and necessary treatment".
As you're in the catchment for the new surgery, you can also ask to be seen as a Temporary Resident (whatever stage your transfer is at).
Use those buzzwords to talk yourself past the receptionist and your daughter should be seen today.

Thank you! Really helpful advice.
