vitamin drops

I have read some very conflicting information re vitamins over the last few months. DD is now one and I have never given her any vitamin drops on her food.

She has a vary varied diet and eats lots of fruit and veg so I believed that the vitamins would be unnecessary.

However she has gone from one illness to the next recently. D&V, chest infections, cold, ear infections etc and has today developed another nasty cold and cough. I am worried that because I am not giving her vitamin drops that maybe I am hindering her immune system in some way...

Can anyone advise me as to the best way to proceed?

seeing the dr and asking him about them would be a great idea

I don't really know anything about the vits, but I know that especially over the winter/spring, both my DS's got through spells of seeming to have one thing after another after another.

When you go to the doctors tomorrow, don't just say about this cold, ask him to look into the fact she has had one thing after another. The day I gave in and took DS1 when he'd had a right run of illness, the docotr said give him another month and come back, the next day the then current bug went and he didn't get even so much as a sniffle till the next winter!

Put your foot down with GP if you need to.

My kids take daily vits from over 2 yo.

The LO doesn't get any atm (15mo) because he's too young.
