Good to see this, I was sent home with sepsis once and was lucky to have survived. It is reassuring to know it might be in place in future.

I remember reading that story. It was heartbreaking.

“With one in five clinical reviews triggered by Martha’s rule so far leading to potentially life-saving changes in care, this early insight suggests the initiative is starting to have a transformative effect in improving patient safety further.”

This statistic is concerning though! That’s a lot of people whose cases would not have been escalated were it not for concerned relatives.

Ans a lot of people who might not have concerned relatives to advocate for them.

It's astounding what Martha's parents have achieved, in spite of the desolation losing Martha must've wrought. I'm extremely humbled, and grateful to them for their courage and determination.

Heartening to see affirmation, also, that the NHS can be open to such input and employ it successfully.

Thanks for sharing, OP ♥️

Glad to share. It may be life saving for some. I had sepsis and they sent me home once. it can be hard to diagnose I think in the early stages. I think they might have a new blood test for it which might help too. Personally with the health problems I have, I get scared about that happening again so it is a bit reassuring to hear about this. I guess patients can request it as well, which might not be easy if seriously unwell, though but at least it is there.

What a tragic read. He ought to be struck off.

I agree those doctors should have been struck off. I had no idea until I had a sick child but I’ve seen it a lot in hospitals. The hierarchy is horrible, with so little time spent caring for patients and huge egos.
