Eyesight and pregnancy/birth

TLDR: if you are short sighted did it get noticeable worse just after having kids?

I'm in a massive sulk tonight because I have new glasses. Didn't use to bother me, but this time not only did they cost an arm and a leg, but they are the dreaded varifocals, which is pissing me off immensely.
Anyway, it got me wondering. I got my first glasses when I was 14, and my eyes declined very gently from then until I had my first kid at 32. Within six months of birth my eyes were substantially worse. Happened again after my second at 35, within six months of birth there was a substantial decline.
So did this happen to anyone else? Is hormonal sight collapse a thing?
I'm frankly worried about what the menopause will do to me (although maybe that will actually be a good thing for me???)
Light hearted curiosity BTW, know I'm lucky glasses exist and that I can afford the sodding ultra thin lenses etc. Not interested in laser unless truly desperate as, you know, eye cutting whilst awake and stuff.

I used to wear glasses for driving but during my pregnancy I found I was squinting a lot so started wearing the glasses for things like working on the laptop...then found myself walking about with them on.
Got to the point I was wearing them full time as I struggled without (although a low prescription) have worn glasses ever since.

DC was born in 2014, I had regular checks but at my check in 2020 I'd gone up 4 'notches' in my right eye! The astigmatism had also got worse.
Fast forward to now and I seem to be pretty steady but I can't go without my glasses at all now 🙈

I'm 37 so also wonder what might happen in a few years! X

I've worn mine full time since late teens. I actually didn't mind for a while, I even got some new ones with pretty frames for my wedding. These days the frames need to be as cheap as possible to counteract the ghastly cost of the lenses, sigh.
