Wisdom teeth removal

Hi, has anyone had wisdom teeth removed under general anaesthetic?
My partner is having two wisdom teeth extracted this week and just wondering how long I can expect it to take? As I’ll be dropping him off/picking him up. I’m guessing there’ll be checks they have to do after general anaesthetic as well?
Also any tips on recovery would be appreciated!

Thank you

I had all four of mine taken out at the same time under GA.
There were a few nerve complications but I think it took about 3 hrs in total.
It was a long time ago and I was still doppy feeling when I left so I may be wrong.

Two of my sons had this due to impacted wisdom teeth, dropped off in the morning and evening before called to collect. Both had to have a week off work on antibiotics and pain killers, soft food only for a few days. No straws as this can affect the clot/healing, salt water rinses to aid healing, put old pillow cases on as some bloody drooling after (sorry TMI)! And they looked pretty sorry for themsleves first 24 hours but to be honest they were OK after couple of days just needed sloppy food like mashed potatoes and gravy, yoghurt, ice cream, soup, porridge.

It depends if they are impacted, and if so how tricky it is to extract them.
I had all four out at once, two were impacted. It took two hours and then two hours after coming round from the GA until I could go home with escort/driver.

Mine took 45 minutes each.

I had an icy cold protein powder and chocolate ice cream shake for my dinner the first night. That really helped keep the swelling down and numbed me again so I could sleep.

Editing to add I was early 20s so had the typical not so good diet.
