jus taken him for a second opinion. he needs two teeth taken out, under sedation (another two he already has two taken out).

the nhs dentist told me to leave it alone.

private told me they would cause him troubles if just left.

have to wait two months for this sedation appointment. if i went private they could do it tomorrow.

i cannot afford £300 odd private atm for him. so he has to wait.

so sad and angry at the state of nhs dentisty in this country .

My SIL (dentist -NHS with small private practice) has always said that they leave baby teeth if at all possible.

Another one here that would leave them if not causeing real pain, for the reasons already stated, space maintence, unecessary stress for child etc. I would recommend the food diary and checking oral hygien, brushing techniques etc to try and reduce further problems and try and determine if it is purely developmental or environmental issues causing the decay. But that can be done by dentist, not necessary to pay privately to see a hygienisy IMO.

Of course the private dentist told you that. Line their pockets and charge extra for sedation. £300 is a tidy sum.

Calm down. They aren't his permanent teeth and if they are bothering him your bus dentist is right.
