Uncomfortable experience at donor centre

Hi all. NC as I don't want this linked to my other threads.

I'm a regular blood donor and wanted to get some view on something that happened yesterday.

The staff member who was setting me up for donation reached under my arm without warning to apply the BP cuff and I felt what I can only describe as unnecessary touching of my breast. It really shocked me and felt wrong.

I have donated for years and had BP cuffs applied many times throughout my life but never experienced this. The man then stood very close while he was cleaning the needle site, so his groin was against my arm until I moved it.

It felt wrong at the time and still does. Should I let them know? WWYD?

I'm so glad you complained. I donate and think you'd have to make a deliberate effort to touch my breast. Even the chatter isn't normal once you're set up.

You should complain. Men like this rely on having made you feel uncomfortable enough to not say anything. He will be doing it to other patients without a doubt

Edited to apologise, just read the update. Definitely follow up! .

I have my BP taken my professionals a lot. Weekly.
Not once have my breasts ever been touched, not even close.
the men can easily keep their groin area away from me. Even in small spaces or high contact scenarios.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. He sounds like a predator.

Just called back and spoke to someone helpful. They did not know what the policy was (ie retraining v removal from role) but said they would flag it.
