Any dentists around? (slightly gross pic attached)

I've had this pink inner cheek lump for over a year, and my last dentist did not seem at all concerned about it. However, I went for a check-up today and another dentist said that while she was not concerned, she wants to send me to a dental hospital for another look and possibly biopsy. She says it appears harmless but it needs checking because I've had it for over a year. Of course, I'm now worried it's oral cancer or cancer that's spread from somewhere else. I'm 26, don't smoke, drink lightly and don't have HPV, but I'm still very stressed out. I do have terrible health anxiety (to the point where it's made me agoraphobic.) Can anyone give me an indication of what they think the lump is?

It's likely a fibroepithelial polyp. Completely benign but correct to get it double checked. Usually caused by biting your cheek or a sharp tooth.

Okay, thank you. Google says it is likely to be that as well.

It says someone else posted on the thread but I can't see it?

I had one of these. Caused by catching the inside of my cheek in my teeth while I slept. I was sent for a biopsy but neither my dentist or the maxfax consultant were concerned about it, more to rule out the 1% chance it was something sinister. The "biopsy" was actually total removal and eating was pretty painful for quite a few days afterwards.

Oh no, guess I have that to look forward to!

You'll be glad when it's gone though 😊
