Skin tag removal

I have a skin tag on my neck and it’s unsightly and I’m becoming extremely self conscious about it. I know this can’t be removed through the nhs but I’m not sure where to start in having this removed. Looking for recommendations that are safe and effective, either over the counter or clinic. TIA

Google private dermatology skin tag removal your area and places near you will come up.
I know Spire Healthcare and Bupa both offer this, but maybe not at every site.

I have just removed a skin tag under my eye using this:

amzn.eu/d/auCgeP6

I have previously tied a piece of cotton around the base of a skin tag to cut off the blood supply and it would drop off after a few days. The contraption above snaps a tiny rubber ring around the base so the same principle but it's easy to do on your own without help.

I could do a DIY freeze kit due to it being just under my eye and I was quoted £350 to have it done privately 🙀 The contraption above was about £10. Only issue is it took a few days for it to drop off but I choose a time when I had no social functions and wasn't going out so not really a problem.

I go to our local skin tag removal lady 🤣 £20 per tag and it's gone. Had one on my pant line taken off in about two mins and it was quite big!

I am thinking of trying the Cryotag stuff on Seborrheic keratosis, does anyone know if this would work on them too?

Ivegotteabags · 12/12/2024 22:02

I’ve just had one done recently £70 cryotherapy.
if need a second treatment it’s £40

If it's big enough I recommend the skin tag remover kits from Amazon that place a tiny ring around it, cutting off the blood supply. I did 5 and they were all away in less than a week. I also got rid of one years ago by tying cotton round it. (Though dental floss is recommended as it's apparently cleaner 🤷)
Freezing hurt a bit. Not massively painful or anything but nippy. I was too scared to do it a second time. I'd be shit as a diabetic cos I couldn't even do a self blood test last week.

I bought some stuff on amazon - threw cation to the wind and used it on my face. Looked terrible for a week and then it was gone, couple more weeks to completely heal but yeah, it was fab and cost peanuts. Wish I'd done it years ago.

I had a few in my neck done with advanced electrolysis. Same lady who does my moustache (yes I am a famous beauty). Very happy with the results. Didn’t realise quite how self conscious I was of them until they were gone.

I used this kit, it was off within a few weeks:

I've also used the removal kit from Amazon. Basically a tiny rubber band over it, worked well.

Furballscominghome · 12/12/2024 22:17

You can snip them off with sharp sterilised nail scissors. It’s a short sharp pain, no worse than a pin prick. Even my pain-averse needle-phobic husband found it tolerable.

This is the U.K. professional body for electrolysis where I found the woman who did mine.

I used cryotag on DH. He said it hurt, but they dropped off a few days later.

annonymousse · 12/12/2024 23:23

I had one on my shoulder. DH snipped it off for me with scissors 2 days ago. Short sharp sting, tiny bit of bleeding and job done.

My NHS GP removed a couple for me only a couple of years ago.
