Does this ECG show SVT?

no

It shows lots of interferance. Are you the patient

sashh · 03/12/2024 10:47

No.

But someone needs to sort out the filter.

Hi, yes I am the patient. I was diagnosed by a cardiologist with SVT, oh gosh, probably 20 years ago now. Late teens I was. I'm purely asking because although I've had a lot of ECG's over the years it's never been mentioned since. I've been on and off beta blockers for years and have recently had a prescription review where the reviewer has put I'm back on them for SVT but I wasn't convinced that ECG shows SVT 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wondered if he had looked at notes from years ago rather than the most recent ECG (which clearly shows other stuff going on). I was just curious really

Do you know the types of SVT?

SVT is something that happens in episodes rather than being there all the time.

Do you have another ECG you could post? I don't think there is a delta wave or a wide qRS but with so much interference I'm struggling.

MissMoneyFairy · 03/12/2024 11:54

Were you on beta blockers when that ecg was done, were you having any svt symptoms

Mumof2HE · 03/12/2024 14:59

So I wasn't on beta blockers when the above ECG was done. Luckily they could fit me in for an ECG the same day as I went to the doctors. I was having episodes of many hours of what I would describe as what felt like an irregular heart beat. So a normal heart beat then a blip or lots of blips then a 'normal' rhythm as such, very unpleasant but from experience nothing serious. A very low dose of a beta blocker sorts me out and I've stayed on them for the past year as they are preferable over hours of unpleasantness.
The only other ECG I have is when I wasn't having an episode, I'll attach that but I'm sure it won't be of any use.

The other ECG

the ECG shows normal sinus rhythm with a few ventricular ectopics - those will be the thumps you could feel. There is a bit of interference but the quality of the ECG is fine for rhythm interpretation. Best people, as usual, to advise you are still the people who can see your medical history/old records etc.

Edit: the above refers to the first pic. 2nd pic also shows sinus rhythm (probably with sinus arrhythmia (which is normal)), but the pic doesn't zoom in with enough quality to interpret it further. Advice to take advise from the people who can see the whole lot still stands!
