Long story short. DH critically unwell. DH miraculously got some treatment and is stable and coming home.

Me however, am exhausted after two months of relentless worry and running around. I was OK two days ago, probably running on adrenaline. Am now the sofa with exhaustion and can’t move. From tomorrow I’ve got all sorts going on that I can’t not do, go to etc to facilitate his coming home.

I got a powder with electrolytes drink which tastes awful but I’ve drunk it.

what other get quick fixes from exhaustion can I do, I am planning on sleeping and doing nothing more today than ordering stuff online.

Well, youcould try making sure your guts are working efficiently - flax seeds (prebiotic) and naturallive yoghurt (probiotic) help with that. It'snot instant though.

My dh swears by Metatone, but is finding it harder and harder to get hold of. Boots used to stock it but I don't think they do now. Independent chemist might.

Really, what you need is rest. Are you alone in this? Can you not ask anyone for help? Mother? Even mother-in-law would be worth having to stay for a few days if there's so much needs to be done.

I'm so glad your dh is recovering. Sometimes that happiness and relief is enough to see us through. I hope he continues to get well and you both thrive.

Rest, more sleep. Go to bed early, take naps. Meditation to ensure any rest/relaxation you get is good quality.

I don't think there is a quick answer to this - your body is reacting to the extended extreme stress followed by the (relative, I appreciate) degree of respite.

I'd keep it simple - lower your expectations of yourself and do what you need to get through, rest as much as you can, and eat lots of good food (but I'd also be relying on ease here).

Best wishes OP.

Iron supplements? Exercise, so you’re physically tired? A distraction before bed so you sleep well, eg a gripping thriller. Magnesium supplements to help sleep. Good luck.
