I often feel v tired at certain points of the day like I am in a fuzz and my brain isn't working. My vision is often bad but I wonder if that's because I am on pc for hours on end. Do wear glasses

I already have a uactive thyroid but this is under control with medication.

Also have impaired glucose tolerance (tested last year).

Yesterday I ate a malted bread sandwich and approx two hours after had to rush to the loo with explosive bowel movement. TMI

Then until about 5 hours later felt very fuzzy and tired. I did eat something and had no need to go to the loo again urgently as before. So it points to the sandwich really.

The suddenly my brain cleared and felt quite clear headed.

Had a good night's sleep and today feel a bit groggy.

Any ideas anyone or anyone experience the same?

Thirsty; weeing alot; weight loss?
When was your last thyroid function test?

citylover · 29/04/2008 22:02

I had my thryoid tested about a year ago. I take thyroxine and thought this was all under control.

I haven't had any weight loss but think I might have to get my glucose tolerance tested again.

I am not particularly thirsty or weeing alot.

I don't feel as bad today as I did yesterday - I def think I had a reaction to that sandwich!

Hi citylover,

I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease last year and what you have described sounds like the symptoms I was experiencing, not nice and very difficult to describe at times. Thats not to say it is coeliac, obviously, 'cos I am not a doctor. But it might be worth asking your GP to do the Coeliac blood test and then you will know more. Good luck.

Thanks yes I wondered about this because a while ago I got this blistery rash over my hand and wrist and I am sure that it can be an indication of that. I need to check that out again. (Dermatitis Herpetiformis)

My problem seems to be that since DS2 was born now 6 I have had a myriad of weird and non specific symptoms - I had to fight to get the thyroid diagnosed.

It all gets so wearing - however the reaction i had on Monday I am convinced was due the to the sandwich - it was malty grainy bread.

Thanks again.

Well as it goes I have Dermatitis Herpetiformis too literally from head to toe, and have recently been prescribed Dapsone for it. Its only taken 40 odd years to get that one sorted.

Oh you poor thing that sounds quite awful.

It has gone now but when I had it it was very itchy.

I will definitely pursue this line of enquiry with my GP
