This has probably been done to death but I can't find much in the archives (not sure if my spelling is right!). Ds, 21 months, is producing foul smelling watery nappies. Otherwise fine, cheerful and eating with gusto. What can I feed him? I've heard of the BRAT diet so so far today he's had a breastfeed, a banana and a crumpet (only white "bread" we had in the house - not sure if it was a good idea...). He doesn't drink juice. Normally has wholemeal bread and pasta - should I go out and stock up on white stuff? How about dairy? Should I give him extra bfs (normally has one a day)? As you probably tell I'm a bit clueless, never had this before!

Quick-fix plans gratefully received as despite my best efforts he's starting to get nappy rash.

Are you sure it's not just teething?

Whilst BRAT is the best sort of stuff to give, if he's happy to eat, then I'd just let him have whatever he wants. Extra bfs are great if he'll take them, as they are super easy to digest.

And get some metanium for his bum.

My 21mo is similar at the moment due to teething, the smell is vile but he's not ill.

You need white pasta, bread and rice, not wholemeal (too much fibre).

The only fruit he should have are bananas and cooked apple. No dairy.

Hope he's better soon.

When my DD was sick the GP told me just to feed her anything she wants and not to worry if it just seems to come out the other end!!

Thanks all for your advice. Going to buy some white bread to try and bung him up! I don't think he's teething at the moment and he's got quite a lot of teeth, never anything like this before.

Put some metanium on this morning so hopefully it's working its magic!
