Small liquid filled blisters on arm - what can these be?

Dd had chicken pox aged 2. Now age 5 she has woken up with two small blisters on her arm which are filled with clear fluid. There are no blisters elsewhere on her body.

Could this be a 2nd bout of chicken pox?

could be, if she had it mildly first time round, it is possible to get it again. i've had it twice, second time was as an adult

although, ds has some fluid filled blisters on his knee recently, turned out to be insect bites

Could it be impetigo? DD and DS had this recently (dd started school in Jan and has had numerous ailments since then).
The blisters are more milky than chicken pox. It can spread, and is contagious. Is a bacterial infection of the skin, passed I think by contact, and needs antibiotics to clear.

are they in a crease ? If so possibly molluscum

cluttercup · 29/04/2008 08:21

No not milky fluid - very clear. Not in a crease either. So far I'm thinking maybe bites?!!

Either way, she's having a day off pending further spots or a clear up. I've just phoned NHS Direct - am no further forward. Their suggestion was to monitor....

Well I'm going to give LIZS half a point for molloscum as nurse practitoner thinks it's a possibility. Far more likely is the "non-specific" viral rash....ummm yes that's what I thought!

2/3 blisters have popped. There are no new ones and dd has no other symptoms .... nurse recommends back to school tomorrow and a doughnut for tea!
