Don't take him to the GP - he could compromise other people there (pregnant women, those with a suppressed immune system). There is bugger all the GP will be able to do for him anyway.

Dd was exposed to it a dozen times before she actually got it; there is no saying when they'll catch it, or which order they'll get it in.

You need calamine cream (not lotion; that's too drying), Piriton can help with the itching as well. Oats is soothing in a bath - fill the toe of an old sock or pair of tights and swoosh it around in the water.

If any of the blisters look dodgy/infected, most surgeries have side rooms that you can wait in to avoid contact with people who should not get chicken pox.

Just wanted to come back to this and say thank you for the advice.I put the oats in bath and ds1 loved that well swishing the oats around anyway but i do feel it helped.I used the calamine cream and have to agree is much better than the lotion i used on previous day.Piriton never would have thought of that but it really helped especially at night.Im now well prepared if and when ds2 comes down with it.So thank you.xxx
