V sensitive teeth

My 2 back teeth have slight receding of the gums. Used to be a bit painful (nothing major). Hasn't been painful for years now.

I went out over the weekend and had a lot of wine (not sure if this is relevant), but I woke up with the worst pain. I literally can't eat on my back teeth. The pain shoots across all my teeth if I chew on anything.
I'm having to just eat using my front teeth.

Why would this suddenly happen after alcohol?! I don't normally drink, and it just seems odd that it's happened straight after that. Any tips??

Sensodene rapid relief toothpaste, rub into your gums and leave it on. Use it a few times a day for that and brush your teeth with it for a couple of weeks.

Go to your dentist and ask for Duraphat toothpaste (it's prescription only)

Pressed enter too soon... it's a game changer. None of the normal sensitive toothpastes work for me, and I have some receded gums and horrifically sensitive teeth. Duraphat makes a HUGE difference!
