Has anyone had a rash like this, I’m panicking!

I’ve rang 111 and I’m trying to get an out of hours appt to see a doctor. I’ve had this rash for over a week on the side of my breast, it’s almost like bug bites, they’re raised, red and look like little blisters. I am panicking because I’ve read about inflammatory breast cancer and I’m so scared it could be this. I have had pain and itchiness in my breast/armpit for the past week.

Could it be shingles? Do you feel unwell?

I did think this myself however I don’t feel unwell at all other than noticing I’m extremely tired lately. However I’ve no nauseousness, temperature, headaches etc

Agree it looks like shingles

I’m hoping it is just something like this, could this possibly explain the pain round the area and itchiness?

I had mild shingles after a Covid vaccination and it looked like that, mine was under my left breast though. I didn't feel unwell as it was very mild, I thought I had been bitten.

If you have had it for over a week, I would just make a GP appointment tomorrow.

ah really! Hopefully that’s all it is. Yes if it was just one I’d be sure I’d had a bug bite as that’s exactly what they remind me off

I wouldn't panic but make a GP appointment on Monday. Inflammatory BC normally starts with a thickened area of the breast and is hot and red. Symptoms can vary though. Symptoms are:

thickness, heaviness, or visible swelling of the affected breast discoloration that makes the affected breast look red, pink, or even bruised dimpling, pitting, or ridges on the skin of the affected breast, so it looks and feels like an orange peel welts, hives, or other breast skin changes nipple flattening or inversion of the nipple unusual warmth of the affected breast tenderness, pain, aching, burning, or itchiness of the affected breast enlarged lymph nodes under the arm or above the collarbone.

Still looks most likely to be shingles to me.

Shingles can be very painful and itchy, yes.

Thank you for this, I’ll definitely get it checked out

Shingles symptoms:

The first signs of shingles can be:
a tingling or painful feeling in an area of skin
a headache or feeling generally unwell

A rash will appear a few days later.

Usually you get the shingles rash on your chest and tummy, but it can appear anywhere on your body including on your face, eyes and genitals.

The rash appears as blotches on your skin, on 1 side of your body only. A rash on both the left and right of your body is unlikely to be shingles.

The blotches become itchy blisters that ooze fluid. A few days later, the blisters dry out and scab.

The rash can be red, but this can be harder to see on brown and black skin.

The rash can form a cluster that only appears on 1 side of your body. The skin remains painful until after the rash has gone.

I have found pharmacists can be really good with rashes

It sound like it could likely be shingles. I was taking a steroid prescribed by my dermatologist up until last week which lowers your immune system so I’m wondering if this could have something to do with. I’m unsure but will get checked tomorrow

It sounds and looks like shingles. They follow the line of a nerve which is why they can be sore and itchy. Probably too late for antivirals now. Use chickenpox remedies and take pain killers
