sudden constant bleeding from an old blood blister on fingertip - any medics around?

Hi,
I've had a blood blister on the ring finger of my right hand for years. Sometimes it is very sore, sometimes it is numb. Once before it suddenly bled but stopped after half an hour. But this morning I was packing up from holiday and realised there was blood everywhere I'd touched - on the bed, suitcase, table and then my hand was running with blood. It just wouldn't clot. It soaked through an entire packet of travel tissues and a few cotton wool balls then finally eased when I packed loads of tissue around it and put on a glove. I was travelling home all day - a long journey - and it kept stop-start bleeding. Then tonight, when I got home I had a bath and it's started again.

It's really annoying as I can't touch anything - it soaks straight through plasters. Currently typing with left hand. with right hand raised above head, but I can't spend all day like this

I have tried googling and can't find anything at all online that explains it. Also today I noticed a couple of red marks have appeared around my eyebrow and forehead - like those storkmarks babies get.

Has anyone got any idea what might be causing it?

I think you should phone 111 immediately.

yes ring 111. Bleeding from even a small wound that won’t stop is worth investigating

Are you on any blood thinners or taking aspirin at all?

Either way, echo pp - please contact 111 for advice.

Fingers do bleed very enthusiastically - I'm accident prone so I know. A very tight dressing often helps as does, as you are, keeping it raised.
