Snoring (me)

As the title says…. I’m 51, menopausal and could do with shifting a couple of stone. I have allergies and take an antihistamine everyday. DH has said I’ve been snoring really loudly - I’ve woken myself up on quite a few I occasions 😳. Will losing weight help (as well as for other health reasons)? I think I breathe through my mouth at night which I believe doesn’t help. Anything else I can do?? Feel very embarrassed, bad for DH and it’s putting me off going away with friends ☹️.

If you're waking yourself up it may be that you've developed sleep apnoea. Losing weight definitely helps.

Sadly yes, it's more than likely weight related

My poor husband spent 6 months in the spare bedroom last year as my snoring was so bad. Hardly surprising as I was 14 and a half stone

I lost 5 stone and now I never snore - I'd say it stopped when I dropped below 13 stone or so

But yeah entirely weight related. I think I'd developed sleep apnoea tbh as I'd often wake myself up

@PoliticallyErect may I ask how you did it? There would be so many health benefits for me shifting some weight.

@AvonCallingBarksdale oh our 'new' friend Mounjaro.

I was adamant I wouldn't do it. Got nowhere on my own so caved and never had a single side effect. It just worked.

I know it's not for everyone though
