Hand hold/advice post gallbladder removal

Hi all. Where to even start. I am 8 weeks postpartum following a really traumatic emergency C-section at 29+6. I had sepsis after the c-section and was in hospital for two weeks. My little girl has been in NICU for the last two months.
During her time in NICU, I suffered from two severe gallbladder flares, which I never had before! The first resulted in 5 nights in hospital for associated pancreatitis. The second also resulted in a hospital stay where I had an emergency keyhole op to have gallbladder removed.

I am 9 days post gallbladder removal, and my little girl was discharged two days ago. I am exhausted.

Following the removal I ate pretty much anything including a couple of takeaways with no issues. However, following a lasagne and a brownie last night I had awful nausea and vomited. Feeling very sorry for myself today with no appetite, heartburn and a niggle where gallbladder once resided. Trying to tell myself that it’s normal being one week post op and from eating heavy food too soon, but anxiety is telling me this is a complication and I am panicking. So upset as want to be at my best for little lady being home and I just feel like absolute poo today. Thanks for reading xx

Hello bless you and congratulations on your little girl. Removing the gallbladder removes bile which is needed to digest fat. Eventually your small intestine will adjust and take over for you. But it's very early days so do try to eat low fat things for a while.

I had similar in the first couple of weeks after. It's quite common and settles down within a month. I've been able to eat anything I want since and mine was done over 10 years ago now.
