Just a message of hope really for others.
Had a wedding to go to this weekend. dd bridesmaid, dh doing the 'giving away' me doing a reading. Rehearsal was booked for 7pm.

So we set off almost straight after school for a trip that takes 1.5 hrs usually. Got stuck in motorway hell. dd had her tea in the car and settled down to her nintendo. Journey took 3 hours and we got to church 2 mins to 7pm.

Just congratulating ourselves for making it on time when hear strange sound from back of car... noooooooooo. worst nightmare!!! dd sick all in car with no warning.

I didn't panic!! Amazing. Normally I would have been a hysterical wreck and behaved horribly.

Hotel next to church so dh runs to check in. I attempt feeble clean up of dd and when dh has key I hustle her in hissing not to touch anything. dh runs to church to tell them the glad tidings I strip dd. Scrub her down. Apart from being a bit pale and shakey she seemed ok. No temp, no queasiness, no pain, so I think, ok its travel sickness. Wasn't sure if I was now supposed to quarantine her (and me) for two days but I figured that most rational people wouldnt do that for travel sickness.

When we are all clean I rush her over to church. Shes fine. Everyone is really nice to her and kind and not all making signs of the cross at her and backing away.

I run back to hotel and ask for bucket hot water, disinfectant and cloths. They were great. even offered to clear it up for me. Could have knocked me over backwards!! But I was brave I told them thank you but its my responsibility. And for the first time since dd was a toddler I cleared it up myself!!

Then I ran back to the church to catch the last of the rehearsals. dd was absolutely fine. I ate my dinner that night without a problem.

Anyone who knows me irl would not believe I managed all that.

Thats brilliant TrinityRhino

I hope it helps others know that it can be ok. I never ever thought it could be. I've been so bad in the past and its caused me to behave appallingly.
