Can someone remind me of the difference between body temp and thermometer temp

please?

We have a forehead scanner thingy (tommee tippee one) and DD1 has been running a temp of 37.5 with calpol to 38.5 without all day.
Last week we were on holiday and DD2 had a temp of 38 with an underarm thingy, so just curious really what the difference is!

I have a electonic little thing that goes under arm or in the mouth under the tongue, read on instructions that if temperature is taken outside the body then add one degree to the given temperature. Which means that my son currently has a temperature of 39.4 .

Thanks, so that's over 38 degrees with a full dose of calpol and leftovers of ibuprofen in her system, no wonder she is feeling crap .
That means that DD1 is running the same temps DD2 was last week, very high temp, listless and clingy and off food (except grapes and biscuits....).
Be warned, DD2 got a mad rash after the second day of over 39 degree temp that was just a heat rash that had got irritated but it looked awful.

Thanks. DS (2 years) has been really quiet and lethargic all day, not eaten anything (except fruit flakes) and not even played football which is ALL he normally wants to do.

All he has wanted to do is cuddle and sit on my or DP's knee, and cried a lot!

Had a mindee here last week with a viral rash that looked awful. Hope he hasn't caught the same virus, although no sign of a rash yet!

Hope your little ones feel better soon!
